P3M Specialist – Cost & Risk

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and driven individual to expand our team of Risk and Cost specialists to support our growing portfolio of work. You will provide analytical support to help quantify defence systems and inform decision making. Projects may be in support of MoD or industry. If working for MoD, then your role could be supporting MoD approvals on larger programmes or helping run projects through quantification and analysis of progress against plans. In industry, the role could be in support of project planning and bid management.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing cost modelling support to MoD and Industry
  • Assessing and analysing project risks
  • Contributing to the development, growth and conduct of the business
  • Determining costing requirement & boundaries
  • Running workshops and meetings to develop a robust Basis of Estimate
  • Supporting the production of Business Cases
  • Engaging with stakeholders to assess project risk
  • Populate cost models
  • Running Monte Carlo simulation
  • Presenting outputs to key stakeholders
  • Supporting formal cost reviews with assurance and approvals communities Providing expertise, advice, guidance, and support to clients

Experience you’ll need

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant numerate discipline
  • Cost estimating & analysis experience, including the development, population and review of cost models
  • Risk assessment and analysis expertise
  • Knowledge of the defence industry
  • Proven track record with stakeholder management
  • Experience with scheduling and Earned Value Management

Essential requirements

  • UK resident and right to work with (or ability to attain) SC vetting status (or higher)
  • Experienced user of @Risk / Monte Carlo tools
  • Experience with Power BI/Macros
  • Experience utilising agile delivery methodologies and processes
  • Willingness to travel to client sites (travel away from office is expensed)

Desirable qualifications

  • Membership of relevant professional body e.g. ICEAA, SCAF, ACostE, APM
  • Business Cases and/or Investment Appraisals experience
  • Experience of working with CAAS
  • Experience managing Verification and Validation of cost models
