Project management for a confidential Middle East Country Government Organisation

We provided project management services for a multi-disciplined technical cyber security team tasked with developing a National Cyber Security Programme for a country in the Middle East.

Situation

The UK government, through the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) Defence and Security Organisation (DSO), has a government-to-government (G2G) agreement with a country in the Middle East. Part of the G2G scope of work is to help this client define and implement a National Cyber Security Programme (NCSP) and establish a National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The client organisation charged with developing this programme had been working with HMG and UK prime suppliers for several years.

Task

The challenge was to help the client define the programme and write the requirements that would be put out to tender for suppliers to compete for in order to deliver the major capabilities required.

Action

We were approached based on our work with The Defence and Security Organisation (DSO) within the Department for International Trade (DIT), and because of our expertise and reputation in this area. We were tasked with project managing the multidisciplined team of cyber security experts led by PGI Ltd, ensuring the team delivered its scope of work within budget and to the satisfaction of the client, and to provide project, programme and portfolio management (P3M) advisory services into the definition of the programme.

Results

Our team ensured best practice project management discipline was implemented, enabling the project to be successfully delivered to the satisfaction of the client. We also created a strong working relationship with the client and are the chosen provider of Client Friend PMO services when the programme enters its implementation phase.
