We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect everyone.
In support of our Mental Health at Work Commitment, and in a drive to both proactively manage the wellbeing of staff and minimise the impacts of poor mental health in the workplace, a number of team members recently completed the Mental Health First Aid England “MHFAider” course.
The course, delivered by MHFA England, was split across two weeks, with the team attending four sessions to develop key skills to support their own mental health, as well as that of their colleagues. The sessions covered a variety of mental health related topics with frequent breakout sessions to facilitate group discussion and complete activities.
Following completion of the course, and with our 11 newly qualified MHFAiders we are looking to kickstart our company wide wellbeing strategy. We will be putting mental health at the forefront to ensure that Apache iX remains a safe, healthy workplace where the mental health of our employees can continue to be prioritised.
We believe that mental health should hold equal weight to physical health in the workplace and in attending the MHFA course we hope to be able to raise awareness and provide vital mental health support both internally and to our valued clients.
