Toby has recently graduated with a BEng (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from Cardiff University and is looking forward to bringing his skill set to the Defence Sector. Toby’s final project was to establish the efficiency of the use of Acoustic Emissions as a Non-Destructive Testing method to monitor corrosion in thick-steel structures for maritime applications. Toby’s final year project has progressed his skills in project and time management, and collaboration with stakeholders internally and externally from the University, which Toby is eager to exercise within Apache iX.
Toby has spent 4 years in the University Royal Naval Unit, with increasing leadership responsibilities as he progressed through. Toby left in 2026 as an Assistant Training Officer, facilitating with training, preparing and delivering lectures, and supporting with recruitment each academic year.
Outside of work, Toby enjoys the outdoors and spends time running to de-stress. Toby also enjoys watching historical films, or a good action film to close off a busy week!
