This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Apache iX Limited (Apache) has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.
Our Commitment
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. Apache has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency in all business relationships. We are dedicated to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery within our operations or supply chains.
Our Business
Apache iX Limited is a UK-based company providing technical and project management services.
Due to the nature of our business, workforce, and supply chains, we assess the risk of modern slavery occurring within our operations to be low. Nevertheless, we recognise our responsibility to remain vigilant and proactive.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains primarily consist of:
- Professional and consultancy services
- Office, IT, and technology suppliers
- Software and digital service providers
These sectors are generally considered low risk in relation to modern slavery; however, Apache remains committed to ensuring that appropriate checks and controls are in place.
Our Policies and Internal Controls
Apache maintains a range of policies designed to support ethical conduct and prevent modern slavery:
- Recruitment policy – We operate a robust recruitment process, including verification of identity and right-to-work checks for all members, to ensure no individual is employed under coercion or exploitation.
- Whistleblowing policy – Our whistleblowing policy enables members to raise concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation regarding unethical conduct, including potential modern slavery risks.
- Member Handbook – Our member handbook outlines the standards of behaviour expected within the organisation and sets out how members and suppliers are expected to conduct themselves.
Our Suppliers
Apache operates a supplier policy and conducts due diligence on all suppliers prior to engagement. This includes:
- Requesting disclosure of any convictions relating to modern slavery offences
- Requiring confirmation of compliance with applicable modern slavery legislation
- Contractual obligations to adhere to Apache’s anti-slavery standards
We reserve the right to terminate supplier contracts immediately should any instances of modern slavery be identified.
Where appropriate, we periodically review supplier compliance and may request updated confirmations or policy statements.
Risk Assessment
Apache assesses modern slavery risk by considering:
- The nature of the services supplied
- The geographical location of suppliers
- Known sector risk factors
Risk assessments are reviewed periodically to ensure they remain appropriate and proportionate.
Training and Awareness
Members involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management receive appropriate guidance and awareness training to help them:
- Identify potential indicators of modern slavery
- Understand their responsibilities under the Modern Slavery Act
- Know how to report concerns appropriately
- General awareness information is made available to all staff.
Our Performance Indicators
Apache measures the effectiveness of its approach by monitoring:
- The absence of reported incidents of modern slavery
- Completion of due diligence checks on all new suppliers
