Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Apache iX is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2024

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations. Apache iX have baselined emissions in 2024, the company have not previously reported or baselined emissions. The company does not own any assets which are contributing to carbon emissions as a management consultancy. Scope 2 emissions come from the emissions of our managed offices/sites within the UK. Scope 3 Captures our emissions from all other categories of emissions produced from consultants undertaking their day to day activities for the business.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 267 tCO2e by 2029. This is a reduction of 30%, noting that we are already offsetting 239.82 tCO2 using Carbon Pay initiative.
This is the first year in which carbon emissions have been baselined as further data becomes available the reduction will be detailed in graphical for within this section.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2024 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 239.82 tCO2e, included within the 2024 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

  • Carbon Offsetting. All employees have a Business Carbon Pay card and are encouraged to use this card to incur company expenses. Carbon Pay enables us to offset our carbon footprint for each payment by distributing a percentage of the transaction into carbon offsetting initiatives. In 2024 we were able to offset 239.82tCO2.
  • Cycling Scheme. Apache iX encourages all forms of sustainable and healthy practice and to support in this offers all employees (inclusive of those on probation) a Cycle to Work Scheme through the Green Commute Initiative.
  • Paperless Office. Apache iX have no printers on site, we run a paperless office and staff have to make specific requests to enable printing on their Apache iX devices limiting the amount of paper waste and enabling the company to accurately track the amount of CO2 emissions.
  • Remote Working. Where possible employees are encouraged to work from home and are provided with ICT and peripherals to do this. This supports our commitment to minimise the amount of travel that our employees need to undertake, ensuring that journeys are only made when necessary. Staff are also encouraged to use public transport where appropriate and therefore show a reduction in CO2 emissions.
  • Car Sharing. When car travel is the only option, Apache iX provides a monetary incentive to employees to car share.

Future carbon reduction initiatives

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Apache iX are keeping under constant review via the Apache iX ESG working group opportunities to reduce the company’s carbon emissions.
  • The Apache iX ESG working group is currently investigating ISO 14001 and what further work is required to meet the standard.
