Alasdair is a senior business leader in the defence and national security domains. He spent the first 16 years of his working life as a commissioned officer in the Royal Corps of Signals. Since leaving the Army he has amassed 22 years’ experience as project and programme director within the national security and resilience areas. He was a Managing Director at a multinational defence technology company and a Commercial Lead at a professional services firm. Also, he founded a new cyber security company which he floated on AIM.
Recently Alasdair has been acting in advisory capacity specifically helping countries in the GCC region improve their security and resilience capability. More recently he has worked as a Programme and Project Manager for the Gambling Commission and Local Government, and as an advisor to UK technology SMEs on New Product Development.
Outside of work, Alasdair is a keen guitarist, specifically jazz guitar. He owns a classic narrow boat with a 100 year old engine and he is a keen outdoor/cold water swimmer.
